The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

With ambitious projects, such as the Super-Midden, you have to roll with the punches and expect the good with the bad. It goes with the territory when you’re creating ground-breaking technology that has the potential to transform the future of waste treatment around the world – starting here in Wiltshire.
First, let’s deal with the good…
In the last week we have had an excellent first design meeting for the Fast-Reacting Gas Cells, which probably ought to be named something more appropriate such as ‘Solid Waste Anaerobic Treatment Cells’.
These cells have the potential to rapidly turn waste into methane that can be safely tapped and used to create power through engines, dramatically cutting CO2 compared to the flaming of landfill methane, while providing low-cost energy.
This energy can be used to not only heat and provide power for our positively pressured greenhouses – which will provide affordable fruit and vegetables for our local community – but also for our planned subterranean eco-business units, enabling the provision of low-cost energy to tenants.
The next step on this journey is to create a Gas Sim model for the new facility that will tell us the gas-to-power ratio that each cell will produce. Then we can hold a design workshop with the Environment Agency and other interested parties.
The bad and the ugly?...
After months of design work, we have received a revised proposal from DBS for the first prototype greenhouse, which has increased in price by an eye-watering 230%!
Consequently, we are urgently seeking explanation for this increase and should have the information by the end of the week. I wonder how Clint would have dealt with this?
For now, we are also seeking prices from two other suppliers.
One way or the other, we will overcome this issue.
Until next time…
